[ad_1]

Tokina has announced the atx-m 11–18mm F2.8 E, its latest lens for Sony APS-C camera systems. This new lens is the first super-wide-angle zoom lens Tokina has designed exclusively for mirrorless cameras.

The lens, which offers a roughly 17–27mm full-frame equivalent focal length, is constructed of 13 elements in 11 groups, including two aspherical and two super low-dispersion (SD) glass elements. The optical elements use with Tokina’s proprietary coating to minimize ghosting and flaring.

Other features include a 19cm (7.5”) minimum focusing distance, an aperture range of F2.8 through F22, a manual focus ring, a 67mm front-filter thread and a nine-blade aperture diaphragm. Tokina uses its stepping motor (ST-M) unit for providing autofocus and the lens is fully-compatible with image stabilization, direct manual focus (MF), MF assist modes, Eye AF and in-camera optical corrections.

Firmware for the lens is updated through its integrated Micro USB port and it measures 74mm (2.9”) in both diameter and length, while weighing in at 335g (11.8oz).

The Tokina atx-m 11–18mm F2.8 E is available starting September 16 for $699. It comes with a carton box, a cleaning cloth, front/rear lens caps and a lens hood. All lenses come with a two-year limited warranty.
